About Annandale Golf Club

Annandale Golf Club is a wedding venue set among the San Rafael Hills of Pasadena, with a clubhouse and course that date back to 1906. The club was founded that year by a group of prominent Pasadena residents, among them railroad magnate Henry Huntington and George S. Patton Sr., father of the well known general. In the decades that followed, families such as the Gambles, Kelloggs, and Weyerhaeusers became members, drawn west by the mild Southern California climate as a retreat from harsher winters back east. The clubhouse has been rebuilt more than once over the years, and the golf course underwent a renovation in 2007 that preserved its early character while updating the grounds for the century ahead.

Couples are drawn to Annandale Golf Club for its history, the sense of family legacy carried by many of its members, and the formality of the grounds. The rooms and grounds have kept much of their original character since the early 1900s, and that history gives a wedding here a sense of tradition. That formality shows up in small ways, in how guests dress for the occasion and in the personal touches the club adds throughout the day.

Ceremony and Reception Spaces

Living Room

An indoor space with American Colonial interiors, the Living Room offers a formal gathering point for cocktail hour or an indoor ceremony. Its scale keeps the mood intimate, and it opens directly into the areas used for the rest of the celebration.

Main Dining Room

The Main Dining Room wraps guests in 180-degree views of the golf course, making it a natural fit for a seated reception dinner. Large windows keep the fairways in view through dinner and into toasts, so the course stays part of the evening even after guests move indoors.

Outdoor Lawn

Just outside the clubhouse, the Outdoor Lawn opens onto views of the San Rafael Hills, with the golf course stretching out below. It works equally well for an outdoor ceremony earlier in the day or a reception once the sun goes down.

What We Love About Annandale Golf Club

Lawn and View

The lawn sits just outside the clubhouse, with trees along the edges and open views of the golf course beyond. We love that view at sunset, when the course catches the last light and the colonial facade of the clubhouse is lit up.

Sweeping Fairways

The golf course stretches out from the clubhouse across wide fairways, with trees lining several of the holes closest to the grounds. As the sun sets we take time to photograph the couple among the trees, working with the light while it's still soft.

Attentive Service

Every event at Annandale is sponsored by a member, so the staff work with a smaller group of couples each season. They're seasoned in the guest experience, and that shows in how smoothly the day moves from one part to the next.

Insider Tips

We love to build time into the day to head up to the highest point of the golf course as the sun sets. A golf cart takes us up there, and the wider view over the property makes for one of our favorite environmental shots of the day.

The Langham is a favorite choice for getting ready, and it keeps with the same historic Pasadena feel as Annandale itself.

When couples get ready off site we like the option of a classic car for the drive over. It gives us a few extra photo opportunities along the way, and adds to the sophistication of the day.

Who Is the Right Couple for an Annandale Golf Club Wedding

Couples planning a formal, sophisticated wedding tend to choose Annandale, where the American Colonial clubhouse sets the tone for celebrations held indoors or out. Couples with a strong appreciation for tradition find a lot to love here as well, since many members' families have belonged to the club for generations. For couples who love Pasadena specifically, Annandale sits right in the San Rafael Hills, a part of the city the club has called home for more than a hundred years.

Annandale Golf Club brings together more than a century of history, spaces suited to both ceremony and reception, and a guest experience shaped by generations of tradition. Couples can move from the Living Room to the Main Dining Room to the Outdoor Lawn over the course of the day, each space offering its own view of the grounds. For us, it's a venue that gives us fairways, trees, and golden light to work with through the afternoon and into sunset. We always look forward to the days we get to spend photographing weddings at Annandale.
